A LITTLE GUIDANCE
How to use this tool
- Choose an image and its output format.
- Create a clean copy by decoding and re-encoding the pixels.
- Read the metadata inspection report, inspect the image and download.
A worked example
A fixture with EXIF GPS produces a copy whose EXIF GPS fields are absent under an independent metadata reader.
What to know
Inspects EXIF/XMP, JPEG IPTC/comments and PNG text chunks. Re-encoding removes those supported metadata containers; visible names, faces, watermarks and other identifying image content remain. Color profiles and quality can change.
Supported inputs and limits
10 MiB, 12 megapixels; still PNG, JPEG and WebP.
